  Historic Charlie Seeber aka Silvertip

Charlie Seeber was a sickly young man of 16 years when the doctor gave him the news that the tuberculosis that ravaged his body would take his life in less than a year unless he found a high elevation home with clean air and water. Charlie found that place at Aneroid Lake and started mining the area for precious metals. He began taking extended walks into the mountains around the lake and started eating the wild edibles that surrounded and lived in the lake. He regained his health and began to build the cabins that stand today. The disease that threatened his health turned his hair prematurely white but "Silvertip" exceeded everyone's expectations and built a "fine resort"  at the turn of the 20th century. He went on to manage the cabins and the general store into his 80's. He lived until he was 102 years old.
